The Bully as the Manipulator

Updated: Feb 6, 2019

So you find there is someone on your job who gives you anxiety and makes you angry each time you see this person. Is this person convinced he or she can control people's actions, or does this person humiliate and embarrass others? Most of the time you know how to deal with this situation. You ignore this person, decrease communication with this person, you avoid this person.

However, what if this person is your boss whom you must speak to everyday? Or maybe it is a co-worker whom you see everyday and are working with this person on a project? You see that there is a resistance from certain people in the office to have civil, mutually respecting relationships. These people are intent on humiliating and destroying others. All of a sudden you feel confused, helpless, and alone. You feel scapegoated and there is no way out.

Take a deep breath-analyze your predicament-understand you are not the cause of the problem at hand and let's start being positive and finding solutions. Bullying is about  someone's need to control and not about your job performance.

Can you find solutions?
