Emphasizing Diversity and Inclusion Strategies in the Workplace


Diversity in the workplace has become increasingly important. In fact, the 2018 Deloitte Millennial Survey suggests that millennials believe their organizations are more innovative, when they have an existing culture of inclusion (Office for Institutional Equity, Martinelli, 2018). This means, that in order for businesses to take active steps towards competing and moving ahead in the economy--the initiatives of working and collaborating with people from  diverse backgrounds will make the company 'richer, more creative and more successful.'

Similarly a Harvard Business School survey found that companies which included more diversity on their department teams, made between 18%-69% more, in terms of net income and operating revenue.


JP Morgan Chase is one company that strives to be at the forefront of encouraging a diverse and inclusive workplace. Some of their initiatives include 'Women On the Move' to 'Advancing Black Leaders' to 'Veteran Job Mission.' All of these initiatives are devoted to creating a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
